This review is short and to the point.
So is this wine.
For a Syrah from the Columbia Valley, this wine works hard to be from the Mediterranean. It’s sharp on top, cracked pepper with some heat- a spicy aftertaste that lingers. Like a Mediterranean Syrah it has that bit of leathery thickness. All this combines to a very direct effect: this wine is secure in its identity. It knows who it is, and what its doing. This is a wine with focus, and the flavor is driven home. While the self-confidence this wine displays is well deserved it is also a bit single noted. It is a well-crafted note, but a single note nonetheless. The triangle without the orchestra, the cow-bell without the drum-set.
